When she turns back and opens her mouth to ask why, I just tell her that I don't like my chances of making it home without getting abducted. I turn and call back to her, asking if I could spend the night. "I hope you have a safe trip home." She whispers as she turns around to leave. My village calls it the Serpent's Maw, because of the giant, snake-like head that the entrance is carved into.

"Just over here." She leads me to the gaping mouth of the cavern and even in the gloom of night I recognise it. I thank her for her hospitality and ask where the exit is.

I carve off a piece of meat and back away again, letting her take some food for herself.Īs things calm down between us I start asking questions, she answers and asks me some, and the conversation proceeds pleasantly until we're both finished. "Please, you should at least have something to eat." As I slowly approach the roasted meat, she backs away carefully, not seeming to want to get too close, or too far from me. I haven't been able to pick up any sexual intentions from her, and she's been nothing but polite.

"Please, it's been so long since I had company, I'm sorry I'm having so much trouble controlling myself." I stare at her, confused. I turn and see she's stopped shaking, though she's still bushing heavily. "No." It's the faintest whisper, but I hear it all the same. I prepare to leave, I can get food once I'm home. "Please, get away from me." I'm taken aback by the request, but comply. Her skin flushes deeper and her entire body begins to shake. I take her hand and lean in closer, promising to replace it. "I'm sorry, that was my only plate." I look down at the fractured ceramic, then apologise, as it's my fault it broke. "I'm fine." She hastily replies, and I look down at the shattered plate and ruined meal, stomach growling yet again. I ask if she's okay, moving closer to see her hand, when she stops me. "Here." She passes me a plate, but when I lean forward to thank her she pulls back like she was struck by lightning, gasping sensuously. I do ask if she'd be willing to share her meal with me first. "So, you probably want to know the way out, right?" I nod, then realising her mask has no eye slots, answer yes. She nods, and slithers up to me, while still keeping her distance. I make my presence known and tell her my name, explaining how I fell down into what is apparently her home while trying to escape some.
